Our church home groups provide an opportunity for people in the church to get to know a smaller group of people well, and share with them what it means to be Christians in their day-to-day lives. They tend to meet either weekly or fortnightly, often in members’ homes. For a number of people, who are not able to be at church regularly for services, this is the main opportunity for gathering with other Christians to worship, discuss faith and pray.
There are nine home groups at present, involving over 70 people, and each has a slightly different focus or emphasis. For example, some groups have a focus on people who live in a particular area; some groups enjoy in-depth Bible study and some groups concentrate on practical expressions of faith. While some have included the same members for many years, others have a more fluid makeup over time and some groups have started from new quite recently.
There are plenty of opportunities and a warm welcome for new people who want to join a group – it is such a great way to get to know people better and grow as followers of Jesus. If you would like to be involved in a home group then please talk to Jen Brearley or Jenny Roberts who will be able to help you decide which would be the best group.
